Shenzhen Science & Technology Museum — Project Design Description (English Translation)

Total gross floor area: 128,300 m²

Commissioned by the museum, StarGroup is responsible for the permanent-exhibition content planning and the overall educational-design strategy. Leveraging a distinctive perspective and a forward-looking vision, we are transforming the new Shenzhen Science & Technology Museum into the world’s first Digital-Civilization Innovation Museum.

Design theme: “Digital Civilization · Innovating the Future”

Four core galleries—Hello, World!, A Better Life, Smarter Industry, and A Clearer World—guide visitors from awareness to sharing, co-creation, and co-exploration, immersing them in the transformative power of digital civilization.

Exhibition overview

• 950 interactive exhibits covering astronomy & geoscience, biomedicine & genomics, AI, low-carbon technologies, smart manufacturing, deep-sea tech, communications, and more

• Content presented in playful, intuitive ways that make cutting-edge science accessible to all

• Seven functional zones create a comprehensive platform for science education and innovation

Five breakthrough innovations

1. Thematic innovation

Introduces the world’s first “Digital Civilization” theme for a science museum.

2. Conceptual innovation

Seamlessly integrates science popularization with science innovation.

3. Model innovation

Establishes a multi-stakeholder co-creation laboratory, converting Shenzhen’s leading tech companies’ products into engaging interactive exhibits.

4. Pedagogical innovation

Abandons traditional subject boundaries; scenario-driven narratives power every exhibit.

5. Experiential innovation
