Between Heritage and Horizon reimagines a three-generation residence as a poetic dialogue between memory and renewal. Rooted in the spirit of the family’s ancestral home, the design extends a sense of belonging through openness, warmth, softness, and connection. The entrance opens with retro Taiwanese tiles shaped like ocean waves and a hollow brick partition that recalls vernacular craftsmanship. Together, they form a gentle transition between the outside world and a tranquil interior.
At the heart of the home lies a 90x320 cm dining table made of Italian Champs-Élysées feathered titanium stone. Chosen for its enduring beauty and tactile strength, it serves as the social and emotional core—a place where meals, reading, and laughter intertwine into a shared rhythm of living. SPC resilient flooring, mineral-textured walls, and softly diffused hues create a calm backdrop that supports both family intimacy and spatial clarity.
The design’s empathy extends to details of safety and health: fire-resistant partitions, anti-slip flooring, and sound-reducing layers protect young and old alike. Sliding glass doors and anti-pollution mesh screens allow fresh mountain air from the nearby hills to flow through the home, blending ventilation with protection.
Lighting becomes a subtle choreography of emotion and time. Curved ceilings and indirect illumination dissolve sharp corners, transforming structure into serenity. Taiwanese-made walnut lamps introduce warmth and craftsmanship, while the elegant proportions of Italian-designed lighting fixtures brighten the evening with layered comfort.
Sustainability is woven into both materials and meaning. Every surface uses low-formaldehyde green boards and energy-saving finishes. Rebuilding on the original family site carries deeper resonance—a renewal that preserves memory, honors heritage, and prepares a barrier-free home for aging in place.
Ultimately, Between Heritage and Horizon is less about luxury than about presence. It is a living architecture of empathy—where textures, light, and air speak quietly of care, allowing generations to coexist in openness and grace.
