WAN JIN WU TONG YUE, a high-end residential district in Hohhot. This design is anchored in the spatial foundation of the Wanjin Wutongyue high-end residential project, deeply drawing upon the core spirit of Song Dynasty aesthetics—"minimalist, elegant, natural, and restrained." It aims to transcend stylistic appearances and create a harmonious and symbiotic environment within a contemporary urban dwelling that can be experienced, lived in, and contemplated. The design goes beyond mere form, striving to integrate the life philosophy and aesthetic tastes of the Song people into daily life, realizing a dialogue across time and space.

Design Innovation

The core innovation of the design lies in the contemporary interpretation of Song Dynasty aesthetics. With the "shaping of spatial ambiance" as its soul, the designers abandon ornate decorations. Through 270-degree corner windows, floor heights of 3.15 meters and above, and open layouts, they construct an open and transparent atmospheric rhythm, drawing in light and framing views to achieve a fusion of indoor and outdoor spirit. In the "narrative of materials and light colors," the designers adhere to the principle of natural simplicity, extensively using natural materials such as bamboo, wood, and stone. Their warm textures, together with a desaturated, earthy color palette, establish a clean and elegant spatial tone, while precise use of empty space highlights the essential beauty of objects and the space itself.

Ingenuity is further revealed in the details. The designers use "modern craftsmanship to interpret traditional essence," integrating the straight lines and joinery wisdom of Song-style furniture into custom home pieces. Hidden warm lighting systems replicate the gentle glow of jade, replacing traditional decorative lamps. Paintings, calligraphy, floral arrangements, and vessels are no longer isolated decorations but cultural elements that symbiotically integrate with the architecture and space. Ultimately, through meticulous and refined control, a high degree of harmony between people and environment, form and meaning is achieved, resulting in a high-quality residence that carries the Eastern spirit.
