Matsu is an island in Taiwan rich with wartime history. The Art Island initiative seeks to reveal the layered textures of island memory, linguistic culture, and military landscapes through artist residencies and community engagement. "Let There Be No Light", Fake Fire Atelier collaborates with local shops on Taiwan outlying Matsu Islands, curating through wartime memories of “light control” and the Mìng-dong dialect.

"Confined in Light" Artist Xin Qi presents : At TaiLi-Rest on Dongyin Island, the piece reflects the island's military atmosphere and its rocky shores known for fishing. At Yima Kitchen on Nangan Island, the work responds to walls densely covered with traces of handwritten text, merging with collage to create a storytelling space in Mìng-dong.

"Dim Roof" Designer Gina Hsu : installed at Longfu Villa on Beigan Island, draws from the local tradition of placing stones on rooftops, transforming it into a lighting sculpture that symbolizes village life in Matsu.
