OMUSUBI is a playful packaging concept that reimagines the traditional Japanese rice ball as a modern snack for global audiences. The goal of the project is to transform a familiar cultural food into something approachable, joyful, and simple for anyone to enjoy. By focusing on color, character, and clear visual communication, OMUSUBI presents the rice ball as a light, fun, and friendly snack experience.

The triangular package shape reflects the form of a rice ball and creates a clear and recognizable silhouette. It opens smoothly and keeps the product secure, offering a small moment of delight when unwrapped. Its compact size communicates that OMUSUBI is an easy grab and go snack for any time of day.

A bright color palette and friendly illustrations support the cheerful identity and help create a cohesive, welcoming brand world.

To make flavor selection even easier, a small “Flavor Finder” introduces each filling through short questions. This fun tool adds discovery to the snack experience and helps customers feel confident about trying something new
