Yuexiu · Golden Horizon

The project envisions a “Graceful Chengdu Aesthetic · A Refined Western Sanctuary,” and is developed around the core concept of “Three Thousand Years of Tianfu, Condensed into One Garden.” Drawing inspiration from the spatial pattern of the Western Sichuan Linpan and the legacy of ancient Shu civilization, the design reinterprets traditional garden rituals through a contemporary architectural language, creating a low-density, tranquil residential environment imbued with cultural depth. The spatial sequence unfolds as a narrative of “strolling through a garden,” where enclosure, transition, and layered vistas evoke an immersive experience of changing scenes with every step. From the reception area to the tea lounge, negotiation area, library bar, Western dining space, and the central spiral staircase, the circulation establishes a harmonious interplay between the tangible and the intangible, transforming the return home into a journey of ritual, emotion, and discovery. Cultural symbols are distilled into experiential memory points: the reception hall features a Shu brocade installation abstracting mountain and water imagery; the tea lounge employs teacup motifs to evoke serene elegance; the library bar interprets ridge lines and ripples to convey literati sentiment; while the Western dining area bridges cross-cultural aesthetics with a refined fusion of French and Chinese influences. Materiality combines wood grain, natural stone, and concrete, enhanced with semi-translucent onyx to enrich light and shadow, forming a restrained yet expressive visual language. A muted grey palette anchors the space, subtly contrasted with teal stone and textile details. With modernity as its structure and culture as its soul, the design integrates historical quietude with the warmth of the land, creating an elevated living environment that nurtures spiritual belonging and poetic experience.
