Located in the Golden Inner Bay of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen Bay MixC represents a new-generation benchmark for high-end urban lifestyle retail built upon a comprehensive city complex. Together with surrounding landmark developments—including China Resources Headquarters (“Spring Bamboo”), Shenzhen Bay Sports Center (“Spring Cocoon”), Shenzhen Bay Cultural Plaza, Andaz Shenzhen Bay, and premium residential projects—the destination collectively shapes a metropolitan-scale “Super Urban Complex.”
With the grand opening of Phase II on September 30, 2025, Shenzhen Bay MixC introduced its renewed brand proposition, “BAY TO LIVE.” Grounded in its prime bay-area location, the project embraces a strong sense of place rooted in Shenzhen Bay, aiming to cultivate an urban ecosystem that brings together elevated lifestyles. Anchored by three core pillars—BAY TO EXPLORE, BAY TO ART, and BAY TO LUXURY—Phase II redefines the Houhai Central District through a dual engine of commerce and culture, advancing toward a global benchmark for bay-area retail destinations.
Within this broader vision of integrating commerce, culture, and everyday life, art becomes a key medium through which the BAY TO ART philosophy is made tangible in public space. Inspired by the artistic spirit of modern master Henri Matisse, this Art Season is not merely a tribute, but a point of departure. Through large-scale public art installations, urban spatial scenography, and site-specific creations, Matisse’s artistic language expands beyond the flat surface of the canvas, taking on texture, form, and spatial presence. Integrated into Shenzhen’s urban fabric, art transcends the picture frame to become a lived environment—one that people can walk through, interact with, and emotionally connect to—opening up a Matisse-inspired vision of bay-area living.
The “Bay to Art——A Journey of Inspiration Through Color and Form” unfolds across four thematic sections: Dance by the Bay, Art of Living, Voyage of Liberty and inspiration Garden. Four emerging Chinese artists and collectives—STUDIOstudio, Cheng Wen, ARTNT, and Guixiaode—have been invited to present a total of 16 works inspired by Matisse’s oeuvre, collectively shaping an immersive dialogue between art, city, and everyday life.
