About The Entry

This guesthouse offers a refined accommodation experience that fuses traditional Japanese culture with contemporary modern design.

By respecting fundamental elements of Japanese architecture—such as tatami flooring and shoji screens—while integrating modern beds and furnishings, the space creates a dialogue between past and present.

A bold color palette of black and gold lends the interior a quiet strength and dignity, evoking the presence and authority of a shogun.

Shoji screens featuring kumiko latticework incorporate the craftsmanship of traditional Japanese artisans, allowing heritage techniques to become an integral part of the spatial experience.

Light is carefully moderated, creating layers of shadow that add depth, calm, and a sense of reverence to the interior. Rather than relying on decorative excess, the design emphasizes structure, materiality, and the subtle relationship between light and space.

This project reinterprets Japanese aesthetics not as symbolic imagery, but as a lived experience suited to contemporary life.

The guesthouse invites visitors to slow down, immerse themselves in stillness, and encounter the spirit of Japan through space, texture, and atmosphere.
