Qinghe Riverside Green Corridor — Qinghe Islet

Qinghe River, originating from Biyun Temple in the Western Hills and belonging to the North Canal water system, is a key "northern flood diversion" channel in central Beijing. With a 11.6-kilometer section running through Haidian District, it spans five streets and two towns, benefiting 230,000 residents and is hailed as the "Golden Belt of Haidian". To promote urban renewal and ecological restoration, Haidian launched the "Qinghe Plan", taking the 1.17-kilometer "Qinghe Islet" as a pilot demonstration area. It addresses challenges like rigid riverbanks, water quality degradation, inadequate facilities, and lack of vitality, aiming to "revive the river’s vitality and create a new waterfront life" and explore an effective path for urban organic renewal driven by river-lake revitalization.
