Located in the Guitang River Ecological Restoration Zone in Yuhua District of Changsha, this project spans 3.68 hectares. As an urban inland waterway, the Guitang River’s transformation reflects the journey from natural streams to canalization and now to ecological restoration. This design centers on the theme of the Constitution, aiming to create a public cultural space that integrates ecological, cultural, and social functions, providing citizens with a natural refuge to engage with constitutional values and promote a harmonious relationship between people and nature.

The design emphasizes the flexible use of urban waterfronts, transforming the river from a traditional flood channel into a model of ecological rehabilitation. This transformation showcases principles of sustainable urban development and enhances the ecological function of the area. By integrating flood management, water retention, and ecological education into the design, the project embodies sustainable urban ecosystems. The design captures the essence of Chinese garden aesthetics, offering a multi-dimensional experience where landscape layers harmonize with the river’s natural features, creating a dynamic space for public interaction and community events.

In terms of innovation, the project prioritizes ecological sustainability by utilizing recycled materials such as reclaimed paving and glass to minimize environmental impacts. It also focuses on rational use of existing site resources, creatively repurposing natural elements and man-made structures into the landscape to lower construction costs and reduce footprints. The design caters to citizens’ daily activities and festive needs, cultivating comfortable public spaces rich in cultural significance.

New materials and prefabricated wall panel technology enhance innovation and practicality, promoting fluidity within the space. Clever incorporation of water elements creates vibrant aquatic spaces, enriching the area’s natural rhythm and inviting people to relax and connect with nature. The Constitution Theme Park offers immersive experiences and interactive facilities, allowing citizens to engage with constitutional themes, advancing education while elevating the cultural sophistication of the city.
