NTHU College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Located in the heart of Taiwan's semiconductor industry, National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) stands as the national leader in science and technology education. The newly designed C.L. Liu Building has brought more imagination and inspiration to the campus. The renovated building, blending modern architectural aesthetics with technological symbols, pays tribute to President Chung-Laung Liu's profound influence on academia and industry, redefining the function and meaning of campus space.

The exterior wall renovation, known as "Cube," features inspired by an integrated circuit and based on an expansion network structure. This transformation has turned the original old building into a modern, energy-efficient landmark. It not only symbolizes National Tsing Hua University’s (NTHU) leadership in scientific and technological innovation but also highlights the origins and development of Taiwan's semiconductor industry.



1 “All in One”

The "Cube" installation art in the square is a computer-programmed masterpiece inspired by matrix mathematics. Comprising over 15,000 stainless steel tubes, it incorporates the abbreviations of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Engineering (EE and CS). This artwork aims to inspire teachers and students to explore the boundaries of knowledge from multiple perspectives.



2. “ C.L. Liu”

The dynamic art wall in the hall showcases the application of the grating printing principle with four-axis milling machine technology. As viewers move, the wall dynamically displays President Chung-Laung Liu’s portrait from left to right and his famous discrete mathematical formula from right to left, showcasing boundless creativity.

3. Resonance of humanity and technology: The Chung-Laung Library combines academic and community activities, providing an inspiring open space designed to inspire future generations.
