This is an aged single-storey residential plan with an internal area of about 85 square metres.

A 40-year old flat is given a stunning new look through the free interplay of light and colour. The flexible use of multiple colour palettes, coupled with wheeled mobile furniture and door handles in the shapes of crosses, beans and hearts, create a richly layered home.

At the entrance, the vivid lavender-purple wall is like a stage curtain, setting a futuristic tone for the space. In the public area, a large amount of natural light is introduced, and the oval green dining table brings a sense of rhythm to the space. Whether the chandeliers are aligned or staggered, they all bring the eye to the space. In the living room, the customary TV wall is discarded, and the moving black low-backed sofa is freely adjusted to suit the light and viewing needs.

The kitchen and living room are defined by large glass doors, creating a sense of transparency. Terrazzo tiles contrast with wood-grain herringbone, and light green tile splashbacks add a playful, childlike touch to the space. The neighbouring arched doorway leads to the bathroom, where goose-yellow walls wrap warmly around the black cabinetry for a subtle texture.

In the private area, a deep green wall covers the whole atmosphere, while dark wood flooring and a large grey carpet are interwoven to calm the mind and become a place to collect emotions. Considering the needs of elderly children, the entire house is designed with raised floors, with additional doorways for the master bedroom and barrier-free ramps replacing thresholds in the bathrooms, so that companionship is not limited by time and space.
