This project marks the establishment of the first grading division in Japan by the world’s largest and most trusted grading company in the trading card market. Just as they have carefully stacked one card upon another, they have steadily built up trust and achievements over the years. To honor their ongoing pursuit of quality and to express our wish for this accumulation to continue, we chose 'Layer' as our design concept.
To make the most of the unique character of a logistics warehouse, we aimed to keep costs under control by exposing the raw structural elements while layering new materials, colors, and other design components around them. In this way, we sought to bring vibrancy, playfulness, and dynamism into an otherwise rugged space.
At the reception counter, we expressed the 'Layer' concept by incorporating approximately 6,000 unused protective cases for trading cards provided by the company, combined with lighting. This transforms the counter into an iconic feature that symbolizes the very business of handling trading cards.
As for color, one of the key elements that defines the impression of this space, we highlighted the brand’s signature red in key visitor areas, while introducing other brand colors throughout the employee zones, creating a visually engaging and playful atmosphere.
