SuiAnTang Life Manor is located in Jingxia Village, Huangpu District, Guangzhou, nestled between mountains and waters. Inspired by Taoist philosophy and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the project embodies the harmony of heaven, earth, and humanity, creating a life-centered space that integrates cultural heritage, ecological healing, and physical and mental well-being.
The design fully respects the natural environment. Wavy roofs, curved eaves, and vertical grilles echo mountains, rivers, and trees, while large glass windows and terraces draw outdoor scenery into the interior, enabling dialogue between humans and nature. Minimalist modern architecture is enriched with wooden grilles and traditional carvings, balancing simplicity with cultural warmth.
The entrance combines the curves of traditional eaves with modern geometric lines. The horizontal inscribed board and carved walls emphasize historical depth and cultural continuity. The scattered yet orderly spatial layout balances openness and privacy, offering both communal areas and quiet resting spaces. Courtyards with pools, greenery, and arbors form tranquil layered landscapes. Interiors, shaped by dark tones, stone, wood, and glass, create a calm artistic atmosphere enhanced by warm lighting.
At its core, the manor nurtures “Jing” (vital essence), “Qi” (vital energy), and “Shen” (spirit). Dietary nourishment, herbal therapies, and restorative spaces replenish Jing; spatial flow and natural energy circulation harmonize Qi; while artistic ambiance and serene landscapes support Shen, achieving balance between body and mind.
Rooted in Taoism’s unity of man and nature, the project integrates Yin-Yang philosophy into spatial and material design, becoming more than architecture—a hub of energy interaction between humans, nature, and the universe. Sustainability is achieved through energy-efficient design, natural lighting, sunshade systems, greenery, and ecological water cycles.
The value of the manor lies in its holistic care, merging traditional wisdom with modern living. Beyond being a healing retreat, it aspires to become a model for an Eastern lifestyle, bringing TCM natural therapy to a global audience and offering a balanced and unhurried way of life.
