About The Entry

Carbon Tide is an innovative wearable that transforms the abstract threat of climate change into a tangible, personal experience. Inspired by ocean waves, the pendant is 3D-printed using translucent, biodegradable algae-based material. Its rising crests symbolize escalating sea levels and the delicate balance between human emotion and nature.

Equipped with an embedded IoT sensor, Carbon Tide monitors real-time CO₂ levels in the surrounding air. The pendant's LED light dynamically changes color based on the detected CO₂ concentration: green indicates low levels, while red signifies high concentrations. This visual feedback responds to the wearer's breath, mimicking wave motions across the chest and providing an immediate, intuitive understanding of air quality.

An accompanying app offers detailed environmental data, including air quality, humidity, and temperature, empowering users to make informed decisions and engage actively in climate action.

By merging sustainability with smart design, Carbon Tide serves as a poetic interface between the body, data, and the planet, turning environmental awareness into daily intimacy.
